$150,000 in debt, working for $24 an hour?

you need a law degree to be a paralegal?

it’s not right

on the other hand, here’s the Greenwood kids in a nutshell: I want to go see this movie tonight; my brother can’t go because he’s working late, and anyway he’s not spending any money at all (he calls it a money holiday) till Friday. quelle irony.

alas, tis true … i interviewed just last week with the DOJ for a paralegal position (JD required). they made me an offer i had to refuse - $41,600 - after the USPS offered me $60k more to work as a contracts negotiator (a position, incidentally, that i am qualified for by virtue of 6 years of pre-law school work experience). definitely veering off my intended career path (as was taking a paralegal position for that matter, but the Civil Rights Division attorneys assured me that all the JDs who’d gone before me used it as a stepping stone & moved on to work as fed attorneys or into private practice), but, damn, bills gotta be paid.
