Here’s an article I wrote for the ABA Journal that just came out. The article’s about a new law in Maine that allows judges to put pets under protective orders in domestic violence cases. This is a good law Maine’s passed - it makes it a lot easier for DV victims to leave their abusers, and also for DV victims to protect their pets - and it looks like more states are passing or are going to pass similar legislation.
